UX Poland conference

This week I took part in the UX Poland conference. I was positively suprised, bearing in mind the previous edition in 2015.

I was very glad to participate in Masterclass Workshop: ''Lean Ux in the Enterprise''. This training was conducted by Jeff Gothelf, author of the book "LEAN UX Applying Lean Principles to Improve User Experience".  Some participants tried to challenge the possibility of changing their organisations.  Usualy most are too petrified and prefer dwelling into the past. But even those, want to be like Apple and realize that they can not keep a cake and eat a cake.

I was realy under impression of the Microsoft's concept team, who tried to predict the S-F future. When I was watching the movie (from 2011). I realised that nothing special have happened since then but some ideas already have been materialized.

The bottom line of the (so ancient) presentation was that all interfaces will still relay on screens. It could be the glasses or inteligent fridges, but some screen-like mediudm will be still involved. The new approach tries to hide all unnecessary information and will make all those UI things redundant.

Two presenters alluded to the Golden Krishna's book "The Best Interface is No Interface", which describes how to do this. The perfect example of this approach is intelligent bulb or NEST termostat.

I was blissfully ignorant of the all magic tricks that happened around me. Even this NEST contraption stole my heart. The upshot of things I tried to find this gadget on Allegro/eBay to (potential) buy it, but (unfortunately) I realised that It's just a fancy termostat to control a heater and I don't need it al all :)

This brought me to the point when the new ideas appeared in my head. I imagined my town I live in - Lodz - as a city from the future. Nature would be everywhere. Trees, grasses and buildings almost invisible, but still capable to hold hundred of thousands people who would pour out from the buildings into the nearest bars by the end of day.
